Tarneit is one of Wyndham's growth suburbs. The Tarneit North Precinct Structure Plan was amended and approved through Wyndham Planning Scheme Amendment C260wynd in August 2024. Its plan deals with the layout of housing, centres, open space and transport corridors. Check the actual parcel’s planning controls; suburb-wide plan labels do not tell a buyer what can be built on a particular lot.
The West Tarneit Station project says the V/Line station opened on 13 September 2026, with a bus interchange, commuter parking and walking and cycling connections. Its location between Tarneit and Wyndham Vale stations may matter to someone comparing sites, but journey time and access depend on the address and service timetable. Check a specific address against the current network rather than calling every Tarneit property “station-side.”
For a new build, compare a real lot's distance to transport and services, the title and easements, the building inclusions and the stages still to be delivered nearby. Ask for the current fixed price and written rental appraisal for that particular completed home. Do not infer rent or capital growth from a station opening or a planned town centre.
Use the address, current documents and independent advice. A suburb guide cannot assess a particular investment.
